Oh, snap. James Blake has released not just one, but two songs previously. Guess what?
They both rule so hard.
One of the stronger artists to surface in the past few years, Blake’s watery, spacious sounds have me hooked. I can’t wait for the full release so I can let it play on repeat for hours, like a summer sprinkler you leave on morning to night; cool, calming and comforting. Dig.
‘Digital Lion’ has a little less Blake vocals than I love, but there really isn’t such a thing as ‘enough’ when it comes to this man’s vocal givings. Either way, I’m pumped on this song & looking forward to the rest of his album.
Enjoy!
Hey beauty… working on playlists for my yoga/yoga dance classes, any goodies you’d recommend?!
Seems like you’re quite the jet setter these days!!! Wishing you allllll the best xx
Hi! Great to see/hear from you. I’d love to help. I just created a playlist for an Amsterdam yoga class. Tell me a little about what you’re playing now (so I can get a read on tempo/style) and I’ll give you some recs through Spotify.

In 2010, James Blake caught the ears of many listeners with his breakthrough single “CMYK”. Built around a hypnotic looped Kelis vocal sample and haunting synths, it sneaked its way into many year end lists along with his self titled debut album. Earlier last month, Blake announced via Facebook he would be releasing his second full length album titled Overgrown. One of the first songs to be released off of his new album is “Digital Lion”, a slow building but relaxing and spacious track that is paired with Blake’s unique, soft vocals. All in all, it is an excellent preview for what Blake has in store for us next month when he releases Overgrown. In the meantime, check out the review of Digital Lion posted on the blog She Blogs About Music.
Transfixed. Simply beautiful x
