Thomas Azier / Red Eyes

Thanks to a sweet friend in town from Italy, I found myself at the Bitterzoet in Amsterdam last night, unaware of the bands that were about to play.
First act: damn good.
Second act: floored me. Thomas Azier out of Berlin might be one of the best live shows I’ve seen in a year or two. Owning his stage presence with force, airy movement and an outrageous marriage of sex and music, the show had me glued to the floor watching the stage in pure awe.
The music is heavy on the synth, full of surprising breaks and lifts and his voice fills a venue like a heavy cloud of red smoke soaking up every inch of air and leaving you gazing through an incredible cloth of color.

You can grab some free downloads off of his Facebook page. Support this guy…he’s doing everything right.
