Lyeoka / Simply Falling

Lyeoka (which means “I want to be respected”) is an artist with a pretty saucy resume: Nigerian/American poet, recording artist, singer, activist, educator and TEDGlobal Fellow.
Let’s focus on “singer” as we listen to this sexy tune.

Note: I haven’t explored many of her songs, but this one has flickers of similarity to Winehouse’s ‘Back to Black’ which captured me immediately. Though, make no mistake, Lyeoka owns the song from start to finish.
